Since my college has now begun after having a very long break, it is quite hard to get back into the routine of getting up early and even worse is that since the timings of when I have my breakfast changed in the past few months, it’s really hard to have a proper meal so early in the morning. So it got me thinking ‘Why is breakfast the most important meal of the day?’.
First breakfast is known as ‘break-fast’ for a reason, its because you are breaking the fast you had for the past eight hours (or however long) you slept for. Skipping the morning meal can throw off your body’s rhythm of fasting and eating. When you wake up, the blood sugar your body needs to make your muscles and brain work their best is usually low. Breakfast helps replenish it.
If your body doesn’t get that fuel from food, you may feel very sluggish and out of energy. You’ll be more likely to overeat later in the day. Maintaining a proper time to eat your meals will help you in keeping your weight in check and stop you from overeating.
So moral of the story; Do not skip breakfast or any meal for that matter.
